National Bulletin no. 57: Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “FANI” over Odisha coast: Cyclone Warning for Odisha & West Bengal: Red Message (based on 1730 hrs IST of 03.05.19)--The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘FANI’ (pronounced as ‘FONI’) over Coastal Odisha moved further north-northeastwards with a speed of about 20 kmph in last six hours and lay centred at 1730 hrs IST of 03rd May, 2019 over Coastal Odisha near latitude 21.1°N and longitude 86.5°E, about 60 km southwest of Balasore (Odisha) and 160 km southwest of Midnapore (West Bengal).

In support, Doctors For You (DFY) team has started working in with people of coastal parts of Odisha. The assessment team is working on ground level to monitoring this situation and observe on those movements.

We invite Volunteer doctors , medical students, and other professionals to join us in supporting victims.
We expect need of WASH, health (espacially Maternal Child Health) services and Nutrition (Under 5 children & pregnant lactating women) services.

Cyclone Fani, the strongest storm in India in two decades Strong winds were seen in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal as well. Seven Odisha districts - Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Ganjam and Khurda - have been asked to stay alert.
