Mission Blood

Every 2 seconds someone needs Blood

1 out of 3 persons requires Blood in his /her Lifetime

One Blood donation Saves 3 lives

Every year India requires more than 1 Crore units of blood but we are able to procure only 45 lac units. This is primarily because of lack of awareness & mismanaged blood banking activities in India. As per the national statistics even if 2% of the youth donate their blood on a regular basis, the problem will get solved. Every two second someone needs Blood………….!!!

About the project

Aims and Objectives:

- To achieve 100% voluntary blood donation in India by 2015
- To inculcate culture of regular voluntary unpaid blood donation amongst the youth
- Strong motivation of potential blood donors
- To organize efficient and convenient setting for the blood donation
- Involve Corporate sector ,Colleges , all other Social and Religious organization s in this Mission Blood within a span of next 3 years.

First Phase at New Delhi & Mumbai

- New Delhi in spite of being the capital of India & having a huge youth population has only 30% Voluntary Blood Donation
- In Mumbai Voluntary Blood Donation is 72%. We want to make Mumbai 1st City in India having 100% VBD

Second Phase

- To start “Mission Blood” in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand & Haryana by 2009.
- To link HIV/AIDS awareness programs with “Mission Blood” for these states.

Third phase

- To take project “Mission Blood” to the rest of the country by 2012.
